multiCOLORed

The weather has been chaotic these past few days. We've been experiencing scattered rainshowers and sunny conditions alternatingly within the day here in Lipa City. I've been waking up to a cloudy morning for a couple of days now. It's a bit sad. I miss the sun in the morning. There are fewer birds greeting me with their lively tweets and chirps, too.

Oh well. To amuse myself, I came up with a few rain chants from the original chant kids say when the rain suddenly pours down as they play outside.

Rain, rain, go away,
come again another day
but please, not tomorrow, this I pray.

Rain, rain, go away,
or else I'll find myself
just sleeping the whole day.

Rain, rain, go away,
though I'd love for you to stay,
now is just not the day.

Rain, rain, go away...
I don't know what else to say.

Don't get me wrong - I love rain. It's just that the whole rain-shine-rain-shine in a single day is driving me crazy.

  1. We used to have these rhymes too. There was another one, not as nice...

    It's raining, it's pouring
    The old man is snoring
He went to bed and bumped his head
And couldn't get up in the morning

After the Palm Sunday service today, the sun shone brightly. The swelter of summer has come here.

"Where there is a rainbow, the sun shines over your shoulder." :)

  2. Hey there! :)

I also know that rhyme you mentioned. But nothing beats 'Rain, rain, go away', yeah? We used to that when we were kids with matching rain dance!

This post suddenly reminded me of a song by Southborder aptly titled Rainbow. My friends and I considered it our official high school graduation song. :)

  3. Thank you for sharing that song. I like the flute and the lead singer's voice.

Our Class Song was "Good Riddance" by Green Day. The melody's nice, but I think the lyrics are 'confused.'

  4. The famous Green Day! I know that song from my older brother. Most other guys in our high school graduating batch of 510 students would choose that song over Southborder's any day of the week. Rainbow would've been too cheesy for their taste. But I was (and still am) more of a boy band fan. ^_~

Anyway, I like Good Riddance's melody, too - laid back and acoustic.

I think it's understandable why 'confusion' emanates from the lyrics. The teenage years, for me, have always been the height of much confusion.. A lot of questioning without really getting sensible answers that at that age one would readily understand.
